Hi, we’re Sarah and Jake!

We didn’t grow up traveling. Neither of us had passports or childhood trips abroad, and our first time overseas was together, just one year after we got married. But that one experience sparked something neither of us expected. Not just a love for travel, but a complete shift in how we think about life, time, and what’s worth prioritizing.

That trip showed us how big the world really is. Not just in size, but in the countless ways people live, celebrate, eat, communicate, and experience life. Being immersed in places so different from what we knew opened our eyes to new cultures, values, traditions, landscapes, wildlife, and ways of thinking. It made us realize the life we were living wasn’t the default. It was simply one of many ways to move through the world.

Travel stopped being something we assumed we’d do “someday” and became a real, present-day priority. We wanted more of those moments that make you feel fully awake and connected to the world around you.

Before long, we had lists, screenshots, saved locations, and sticky notes filled with experiences we wanted to have all over the world. Eventually, we turned it all into one physical bucket list. And once we did, everything changed. Our trips became more intentional, our goals became more tangible, and planning meaningful experiences became part of how we designed our lives together.

Instead of planning trips around random sightseeing, we started building them around the experiences that mattered most to us. Wildlife encounters, hands-on workshops, unforgettable landscapes, cultural experiences, interactive adventures, and once-in-a-lifetime moments that made us feel genuinely connected to a destination.

That mindset eventually led us to create Antisocial Tourist.

Today, we share bucket list-focused travel guides, interactive travel games, animal encounters, and hands-on cultural experiences designed to help travelers experience destinations more intentionally. Our goal isn’t just to help people visit more places. It’s to help them feel more connected to the places they do visit.

We started this blog because we believe life becomes richer when you actively participate in it. We believe in writing things down, prioritizing experiences, staying curious, and making room for adventure before “someday” turns into never.

Sometimes all it takes is one trip, one moment, or one shift in perspective to change everything. The sooner that moment happens, the more time you have to build a life filled with curiosity, connection, and unforgettable experiences.
